My name is Mitchell and this blog is devoted entirely to Harry Potter.

So, I was working overnight earlier this week…

And I got into a Potter discussion with a co-worker. He’s two years younger than me, and although he isn’t as serious a fan as I am, we still had a decent conversation. When out of the blue, another co-worker of mine chimed in with, “Harry Potter? You should be embarrassed for liking that.” I just stood there, staring at him. Granted, he is a bit older than I am…late 20’s, probably, taller guy with a bit of a beard, but still fairly clean-cut. Anyways, I couldn’t think of anything else to say other than, “You just lost a lot of my respect.” Not for not being a Harry Potter fan, but for suggesting that I be embarrassed for being one myself. Of course he said, “I don’t need your respect!” in a very joking manner, but it just got me thinking about how unfortunate it must be for him to not be involved in one of the most celebrated stories to have ever been written, and soon-to-be one of the most historic franchises our World has ever seen. I can’t think of any other word for it than unfortunate.
